A quick drink with friends after work on a cold & rainy Canberra evening, that’s all it was meant to be, although as soon as we stepped into the bar area at Firestone with its vibrant hum of laughter & the wait staff buzzing past us carrying dishes that had “eat me” written all over it, we knew we’d just have to give into the temptation & beg for one of their last remaining tables.

Firestone is located in the inner northern suburb of Dickson’s restaurant strip in Canberra; the crowd are young & trendy & come here before a late night out knowing the food is good, will be quick to arrive & the staff are friendly & fabulous. This place also goes off with the business lunch crowd as well & a bit of a fave for the locals when a take-away pizza is on the the menu!
I really like Firestones approach to food, the mains are simple with great flavor combinations & offer an extensive range of sharing plates (Tapas) using seasonal produce that speaks well for itself. Things step up a notch with the dessert pizzas though, they’ve created some awesome sweet flavors like apricot, pear & vanilla bean ice-cream pizza & Banana and Bitter Chocolate Calzone & just the thing to share with your gal pals as we did.
