Ever wondered what skill is really required to be an a top line Dish-Pig & what they actually do in fast paced kitchens? Well, despite getting called unfortuante & derogatory names these guys & gals are hugely important & crucial to the smooth running of a kitchen & makes sure everything is where it should be & are the key to our Mis En Plus.
So, what’s THE most important thing that The Dishy does? In a nutshell, the Dishy makes everyone else’s job easier & Chefs couldn’t work their magic without them. The job involves a serious amount of mental aptitude, speed, skill & an ability to work in hot, noisy enclosed spaces, sometimes a little too close for comfort with other busy kitchen & restaurant staff as they dash by unloading plates filled with food scraps or hot pans still sizzling with hot oil!
