HALLOWEEN & SUPPORTING A FANTASTIC LOCAL CHARITY

A few years ago I worked at The Belconnen Premier Inn (BPI) as a Chef, then in Sales & Marketing, eventually working my way up to becoming the Assistant General Manager of the hotel. It gave me such a broad understanding of how front of house hotels works, and I got to have some awesome experiences being involved in some pretty amazing stuff too. We were all such a young team with plenty of energy & were up for the challenge to strive for that ‘point of difference’ & go above and beyond in the community with the events we did, with a goal to really making a name for ourselves.

My bucket list had a couple of things on it that actually required just the right mix of people and jobs. You see, ever since I was a little baby chef working at the National Convention Centre, I was always intrigued & wondered what it’d be like to put on events.  Not just any event, but events that directly helped those less fortunate than me. Things haven’t changed too much in that arena, perhaps the events are more high profile now, but back then, the challenge was to put on 4 community events each year in which the organisation I worked for actively raised funds, and put on a bloody good show doing it.
