HOW TO FIND THE PERFECT WEDDING PLANNER & NOT END UP A BRIDEZILLA

One of the first weddings I worked on while still cheffing was for around 700 people – I’m no stranger to a good event, in fact I love ‘em!  Working to exact times with big staff teams front & back of house is my thing.  So, naturally when I stepped into Sales and Marketing & Event Management, I got to see things in a very different light as I came to realise before a bride gets to her reception she first has to overcome more than the odd obstacle.

For one thing, it amazed me how much stress was attached when gorgeous brides-to-be sat down with me to organize their wedding.  They were usually tired, overwhelmed & skeptical that everything would come together for their big day; many of them had a fatalistic look on their faces that said – ‘I can’t wait until this is over’ & most of my brides were much more excited about the honeymoon as they could rest & sleep to get over the dangerously high levels of Bridezillarism; a toxic affliction I’ve heard can sometimes cause a nasty start to the honeymoon! OPENING NIGHT – Pictures Tell A Thousand Words!

One of the awesome things about being part of Opening Night with a new venue, is the incredible buzz that starts to build as the million and one jobs on your list of things to do seems to grow quicker than you can tick them off.

With finishing touches being completed to the new state of the art kitchen – we’re talking the Rolls Royce of kitchens here!!   We had teams of builders, sparkies & plumbers working around the clock – things resembled Bedlam, but we all know that no matter what is going on ‘back of house’ the show must go on.  But dang, that’s part of the pleasure & pain of it all right?
